BOURNE –Celebrated up and down the East Coast, the Bourne Scallop Fest is recognized with distinction, named one of the top 100 events in the northeast for group tour travel as designated by the American Bus Association.
New this year - Beer & Wine provided by Harpoon Brewery of Boston & Coastal Wine Trail representing seven local wineries. New this year – Interactive booths by Scallop Fest Sponsors Comcast and TD Banknorth. New this year – exciting new entertainment each day – Stage Door Canteen, Ricky King Russell Band featuring Danny Banks and a K9 Demonstration by the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office. New this year – more variety in the food court including raw bar and garden fresh salads.
With the help of 500 volunteers, over 50,000 visitors are welcomed to the area! The Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce organizes this extravaganza held annually at Buzzards Bay Park on the banks of the Cape Cod Canal – next to the famous Buzzards Bay Railroad Bridge. The gates will open each morning at 10 am, Friday and Saturday the Fest will be open until 10 pm, Sunday, the gates will close at 6pm.
Back by popular demand our Scallop and Herb-Roasted Chicken dinners served by J & J Concessions, along with a variety of other favorites for the kids including burgers, dogs, chicken tenders, sausage, fried dough, and desserts.
L & R Productions returns with their juried Arts and Crafts Show and Home Expo.
A fantastic line up of live entertainment is scheduled including headliner ENTRAIN from Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday night at 7pm. The children will again be delighted with Toe Jam Puppet Band for two shows on Saturday and the Tall Tex Greeters, costumed characters on stilts, always a big hit with families. New this year – Ricky King Russell – one of the Blues’ most seasoned performers joins with Danny Banks, who at age 15, is a natural talent. They will perform Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm. General Admission is only $5.00 - children 12 and under get in Free. Free parking is also available. Proceeds from the Fest help pay for the Chamber’s scholarship program and operation of four visitor centers in Buzzards Bay, Sagamore, Sandwich, and Wareham.
